That's why we call it the present.
The reality is that when you live in yesterday's hurts and regrets, or are either fearful or terrified by tomorrow, your ability to move forward will be confined by your inability to make the most of today. Let these anxieties and fears go, and release the power within so that you are free to enjoy today to its maximum glory.
How you do one thing is how you'd do everything. These principles are relevant across various strategies in your life, be it your business, health, relationships or taking care of yourself.
This is the key: Live in the present and create a better now. By making the now better you are making the future better.
So, we say it again at GAMEPLAN Coaching - Live in the present by putting your effort into TODAY - be in the present moment. Reap the rewards of enjoying a new awareness of everything around you and this, in turn, will take you forward in a more constructive and fulfilling way.
What about the past and future? Aren't these important too? The past is there to help us learn from our mistakes, to empower us with wonderful memories. Planning for the future helps us directionalise our focus on what we want and where we want to go.
Being anxious over what could happen, on the other hand, is not constructive and serves to hold us back. Awareness of ‘what if's can be turned around in a positive way by firstly acknowledging the thought and then asking yourself some quality driving questions ‘So, how can I make it better? How can I experience this differently? What contingencies can I put in place?" and then, letting the negative thoughts go.
Entertaining thoughts of the past or planning for the future have their places but once you've looked at it, let these thoughts go and focus on the present because this is where you can make the biggest difference. Now.
